Few years ago my dad decided to buy two new computers without consulting me. Okay, I'm not much of a computer expert but at least I know enough lah. On the outside the computers lookdamn high tech with the flat screen monitors but inside its all crap! I mean, who the hell spend so much on the monitors but only installed 64 MB of RAM? It's not even enough to run Windows XP. I was damn bloody pissed at the guy who sold us the computers because we've dealt with him for so many years and he dared to cheat us.
Anyhow one of the computers died few months ago. After many failed attempts to fix the computer, I got really frustrated because I didn't understand why he couldn't get it working again. So one morning when I was feeling smart (or so I thought), I took out the hard disk and put it into a computer that was working. When I turned the power on, there was this loooonnggg beep from the CPU. Okay, not working. So I put the old hard disk back into the CPU, and STILL THERE WAS the long beep. Crap. Now both the computers are screwed.
This is a lesson for me to not think that I'm so bloody smart and can do anything if I put my mind to it. :P Also a reminder for me to call qualified computer technical support to fix the TWO ruined computers...
Sighs....

Ipoh 2008
Am in Ipoh right now. There's free wifi everywhere in Ipoh so I could check my email everywhere. Not that I got many important emails to check lah but needed to coordinate a meeting to cut lipsticks. Since I'm a poor person without a 9 to 5 job I gotta save as much as I can lah. Anyways it's a bit wasteful for me to buy a whole tube of lipstick since it's highly unlikely that I will finish using a whole tube EVER.
Ipoh is filled with coffee shops. Why are there so many coffee shops I can't say, but I definitely ate damn a lot. Today I went to have the famous curry mee located opposite MGS Ipoh on Jalan Kampar. It is so bloody yummy k!!! Thick tasty curry soup with lots and lots of liu (chicken and charsiew). It's relatively pricey by Ipoh standards, RM 3.70 but definitely damn worth it by KL standards. Damn lots of liu!! In KL for RM 3.50 you get NOTHING!!!
Will be going back tonight. Miss my bed...

Information overload.... too many windows open at the same time...

Huge picture of Edison Chen today in The Star. I'm gonna cut it out and get er jie to laminated it for free at work. Hee heeeeeeeee edison so yummyyyy

Edison Chen back in HK
Edison Chen finally went back to HK and had a press conference. He admitted that it is he who took the photos. Apparently his conquests include wives of rich hongkie businessmen.
Here's a video of the press conference. He looks so sincere, doesn't he? But he's also an actor... Sigh so sad he'll never be in the HK entertainment industry for a longngg longgg time. Still think he's hot... Droopy eyes tho. Don't think that the charity part is necessary. I mean, will people really think that he's a better person after devoting time to charity?

Poker is fun too
Everyone keeps using the Chinese New Year as an excuse to gamble. As far as I can remember, they've been playing poker since way before CNY, so I don't see any reason they should stop playing even though today is the last day of CNY.
Even the kids are not spared. All the kids at home are kaki judi. They start as early as 8 years old, and yes, they all know how to play mahjong too. Nobody taught them. Kids are really smart. All they do is watch, and when the table is available, they just find a gang of 4 and start doing their stuff. Luckily the kids gambling is limited to only the CNY period, unlike the adults.
For some reason it's quite common to hear people playing poker these days, compared to before. Is poker an 'adult' game? Highly likely. Probably because you gotta have so much capital and when you're still studying or during the early part of your career you can't afford to take a gamble on that much of money. Anyhow, I play a bit, and it's quite fun. I can't believe I lost so much to Ben the other night!! I really thought I had a good pair, but he got two :( It's nice to throw chips around, feel as if we are real high rollers haha. The other time we didn't have poker chips with us, so we played poker using groundnuts as chips. Each chip is RM 1. That was funny throwing peanuts around. My bf the weirdo gave away only the fat groundnuts, he wanted to keep his groundnut chips uniformly small....

Love the corporate world?
I met up with Ducky last weekend for coffee. Nice coffee, because we went to San Francisco Coffee and paid RM10 or more for a cup of frapp. The barista looked damn pissy when I kept calling their ice blended frap because frap is usually associated with Starbucks. Ducky paid for our coffee because she said she has a job and I'm on freelance basis. Fine, I'm okay with freebies. Then we sat down, took out our cigarettes, sipped on the coffee and started the usual chat about life, work, love, the usual stuff.
She told me that her boss is treating her like dirt now, because she was hospitalised for a couple of time within the past 6 months. Her responsibilities are taken away from her and she's basically left doing the dirty stuff that are no brainers. I really pitied her, because it is not her wish that she got sick and had to be hospitalised. But the crappiest part had to be the vagueness of the whole situation. She is stuck in this job that she love(d) but she doesn't know her future because of her boss who has not given her a firm answer. If the boss doesn't trust her, then she should be told so that she can plan her future, isn't it so?
I've worked for a few bosses, and have to say that working for male bosses are the best. They are not petty like their female counterpart who take everything personally. Do something wrong, the female ones are likely to tell you 'You've betrayed me'. Right. I also like working for Malay bosses. For some reason I find them more courteous and refined. The Malay bosses are also more willing to share and teach you. Could it be that the Chinese bosses are just more kiasu, always afraid of you climbing on top of them? But having said that, I've also worked with Chinese bosses who are really good managers. For some reason I have been blessed enough to be working with bosses who have been thoroughly kind to me, no matter what race.
Work problems are inevitable in every workplace but must some bosses make life difficult for their subordinates? I'm sure everyone have their difficulties, whether a doctor, accountant, international tax lawyer, market researcher, cigarette freelancer, or even an astronaut, but if their bosses just show a little empathy, the workplace will be a much better place to be at, especially when you spend more than 8 hours a day there.
Here's a prayer to the annihilation of psycho bosses of the world. Here's a prayer for Ducky.
Psycho bosses make me sick

The girl with a million question is back.
Something really funny happened this morning. My bf called me 'the girl with a million questions' - that was my 'tagline' for the tingkeling blog long long time ago. I couldn't help but laugh because that couldn't be more true. I am the girl with a million questions, forever questioning this and that and many more. And my questions for today are:-
1. Why must people bitch so much?
Back in Form 2 during free periods a bunch of us girls used to sit in a circle bitching about everyone we could bitch about. We call it 'mengumpat' which means talking about people over their backs. Over the years I think people just got too busy and preoccupied with their own lives to bitch that much. However, there are certain people who still do and can't seem to stop. I mean, really, these people find negativity in every damn thing. Personally, I feel that if you are bitching about people's pursuit of happiness, then you're raining on their parade. And why would you want to criticise them when you don't even know them? Too free?
2. Am I a hypocrite to bitch about people bitching?
I've had hesitation writing this. But I just had to let it out because off late there have been too much of it going around. I don't wanna keep them all in and explode one day. Anyways I don't care and I largely suspect that is why a lot of people dwell in it. So this whole negativity thing is present in nearly everybody, just that everyone 'indulge' in different amount of bitchiness. To each his own.
3. What should I do about it?
Nothing. Bitch less. Continue eating my favourite sambal belacan. Listen to fengtau music. Admit to her that her nose job is bad and she needs to revise a bad rhinoplasty result. Love my boyfriend. Put layers of makeup on. Play pool. Life goes on.
I guess I am just trying to get this out of my system. I always tell myself and people that if you don't like something/someone, then you shouldn't subject yourself to such torture because you can always distance yourself from the irritant. Precisely what I'm doing. Life is easier with this simple guideline.

Age is catching up...
I like my life now. People ask me how's life, and I tell them that it's great. Life's great, but what's so great about my life? I am doing freelance work now, so I basically work on a deadline. A procrastinator that I am, I usually wait till the very last minute before I get started, and then work and smoke like mad to meet the deadlines. So there's the short period of stress there. After that short period of stress, I'll go for class and put makeup on people with my mind semi blanked out. It's very relaxing, yes it is. So yeah, that is my life now. Short stress, then relax, short stress, then relax. I also put on a lot of makeup on myself these days, but that's fun. I'm a really lazy person, so it's kinda troublesome to remove all those junk on my face at the end of the night.
Confession: I used to go to bed without removing my makeup. (I now know that it is very bad to leave makeup overnight).
I behave now. I remove them nearly every night these days. Maybe 98 out of 100 times. But I'm really rough when it comes to my face. People say you're not supposed to pull the skin downward, but I do it all the time. Result? Saggy facial features. Okay lah, part of it is also due to the age factor, but me pulling on the skin is also a contributing factor k. The crappiest part about having saggy eyes (my eyes are downturned) is not really the saggy eyes itself, but having your MALE classmates tell you that your eyes are saggy. *sigh* I better be less rough to my face, or I'll have to find a solution to reduce sagging facial features fast fast fast!!!
Disco dancing.
It's been a really really long time since I went out drinking and dancing. I can't even remember when was the last time I did that, that's how long it has been. College days were crazy partying times, can go out partying any day of the week, even right before exams. Wednesdays were spent at Modesto's Forum or Planet Hollywood. Friday? Let's hit Modesto's again or maybe Mahoney's. Never did like Backroom as it was too dark and dodgy and filled with junkies. Honestly, the best place for after parties was Barbarran's. It only got funky after 3 am when everywhere else is close. A friend of mine claimed that she had higher chances of getting lucky there. :P
These days I am so out of touch with what's happening around town so ff you're wondering what is there to do at San Diego Thursday nights or anywhere else, please do not ask me, because I will not know the answer. Event directories like Klue and Juice are my best friends now if I need to get inspiration on where to go or what to do. New places in town? Very likely I would not have heard of it until every Tom, Dick and Harry have gotten sick of the joint.
Such a noob I am. But it's okay, because at this age, I really prefer house parties. ;P And here's a pic from old clubbing days for remembrance sake. Sigh those young and reckless (and thin) days...

Yum yum jolly shandy lychee.

Jolly Shandy got new flavour wohhh... lychee.. I love lychee. It's so obvious that this drink is made especially for ladies. I've got a few female friends who drinks beer + 7 up, or wine cooler. It's kinda nice, love the lychee taste, but I've always been a lychee person la. Some people may think that it tastes like medicine, but then their imagination is always overworked.
I don't understand how they can call this drink an alcoholic drink, there's LESS than 1% alcohol content. I think I'll stick to my whiskey and water, thank you, it's just that I was damn thirsty after stuffing so much junk into my body for the past 14 days of chinese new year. For all I know my hair might fall off from all the MSG, then I'll have to go for Phila hair restoration. Better cut down on the junk food before it's too late.

Muar is a nice place to be at.
I've always dreaded going back to dad's hometown in Muar, but I find it quite enjoyable these days. I think it's probably because my parents' teaching (maintain tradition, bla bla, who else will do it if not you people, bla bla, respect your elders bla bla).
Anyhow now that I'm 'older', it's less intimidating to drive around roaming the hometown that is still largely strange to me. One midnight we were desperately hungry so drove around and couldn't find anything to eat. San jie said there's a Halo Cafe in Muar. Halo Cafe is a cafe with live performance (Chinese songs) where people sit around drinking tea with mini rosebuds. I said okay cos I like Chinese music and there's free wifi. Got there around 1245 am, was told that they close at 1 am so not taking in new customers, so all we did is sit in car and freeload on their wifi. Haha :P Sometimes I really don't understand why won't these people just serve us. I mean, there are other customers there having beer and all, so it's not like they are gonna chase the customers away. Actually I do understand. They are just working there, so they don't care if they make another extra or less 10 bucks.
Less words, here are some pics from Muar.
Otak-otak is what Muar is famous for. Oh I forgot the Namewee guy.
Sexy lingerie Muar style.
Kaochim (getting one's fortune) at the Kuan Yin temple. Thean Choon Temple. A yearly affair for us.
My fortune for the year :)
Damn no mood now.
Aiyo, damn no mood now. Just realised that the stupid bluetooth device that I use to transfer pics from my nokia phone to my laptop is damn stupid. Or maybe nokia is stupid. It's definitely not my laptop. New photos taken using the nokia are renamed or renumbered using whatever remaining number is left. Meaning if I took an Image001 on the nokia, transferred it to my laptop, then delete it from my phone, retake another pic (also named Image001), and transfer it to my laptop, THEN the old Image001 is removed!!! I'm forever sad!!! I have a million pics written over that I did not know of, and now it's too bloody late!
The crappiest part is I have work photos taken and now it's gone too! Now I have to redo the survey again. What the hell....
Anyhow CNY was crazy, I had no time and initiative to write stuff or come online. When I do go online, all I do is check out Edison Chen's pics. I repeat, I still think he's bloody hot!! I don't think his life or career is ruined, but the other chicks (Ah Gil, Cecilia Cheung, etc) should just go for cosmetic surgery in Boca Raton so that people won't recognise them ever again. Tsk tsk.

hate my hair hate my hair
I really really really hate my hair. It's like I have bad hair day, except that this occurs on a daily basis. I really need a bloody haircut. Or maybe I can just take the whole damn thing off.
CNY this year is somewhat different. That old cny feel is there, but less intense? Is it really age?

Lots of agitation
I feel so fucking agitated now. Maybe it's because I didn't get enough sleep and had to run around running errands and all. Something went wrong, was stuck in a million jams, bought a dress that doesn't look good anymore at home. Totally bloody pissy. And I really hate it when he calls me when he's drunk and he pretends that he's not.
Two more days to CNY. Relax. Take a deep breath.

I'm good with kids.
I got to know this chick from the astro show last week. Yesterday she came to the studio and brought her son with her. Yes, son. She's in the business for at least 10 years already. Anyways her little boy is just so cute. He's really fair and got this hair tail thing. Totally cute! So I tried to kacau him..and I think I'm quite good with kids. Just give them sweets and you can take them anywhere you want.
I wanted to take a photo of him with my phone camera, so I told him to smile. He didn't smile, but he put up the V sign! I didn't even ask him to do it. Too cute, he looks so blur in the photo ! Love it when he stamped his foot when I wanted to steal his kiddie song VCD... hehe

Want to get webhosting service.
I'm actually thinking of getting my own webhosting. There will be more flexibility and I can pretty much do anything I want on the website. As of now I'm hosting this blog with the free blogspot service, although I have my own domain name. I just need to pay aboutRM 250 per year to get a webhosting account and even then I can use those space to create as many websites as I want. Of course, since I'm a newbie I need things to be as simple as possible.
Then there's the problem of whether your site is actually visited or it's just ghost town on the Internet. I guess I can just utilise free counter to keep track of visitors that come to my site. There are many out there, just keep shopping for the right one that is simple to use, and most importantly, accurate.
I hope the content migration from blogspot to wordpress won't be too tough. I'm such an idiot when it comes to the Internet.

I love Chinese New Year cos that's the season to get lots and lots of angpow! Reunion dinner is great, cos we get to makan damn a lot (yummy hugeass prawns and monk jump over wall) and then the kids will do their lion dance thing with the miniature lion dance head. :) I guess not many family are as close as my family (at least 40 of us for dinner), because last year a chinky magazine came to do a feature on our family for their cny (feb?) issue. Because they had to do it earlier, we had 2 reunion dinners instead.. so two times monk jump over wall and two times hugeass prawns...
this year no mag, but i heard some internet fellow coming to cover our reunion dinner woh. poor guy, doesn't he have a reunion dinner to attend too?
lastly, love chinese new year because of the because of the crazy amount of alcohol we have at home. I usually play bartender during CNY cos I'm known as the alkie at home :P
See?? Shandy and beer... can swim in it if we fill up the plastic blown up pool.
